Goodyear to Celebrate Great Things Born in Akron by Giving Akron-Born Newborns a Most Valuable Ride Care Package

What do Lebron James and Stephen Curry have in common, besides being NBA MVP’s and superstars? They were both born in Akron, OH in the same hospital 38 months apart! To celebrate, Goodyear (based in Akron) rolled out the “Great Things Born in Akron” campaign, which gave parents of children born in Akron-area hospitals during the NBA finals a care package including: A set of four tires, an "Akron Born" onesie and a car seat. The Akron tire maker teamed up with three local hospitals, Summa, Cleveland Clinic Akron General and Akron Children's Hospital to facilitate the promotion. (client)

Tommy Parker, a 7 year-old, can be seen in a new video where he is balancing a busy schedule, giving wisdom and enjoying a juice box. In addition to the video, the campaign is crossing over to social where the brand highlights other amenities featured at the resort.

Yelp's New Campaign Looks to Drive Use Beyond Restaurants

Yelp will begin airing a new national ad campaign designed to encourage people to use its service for more than just restaurant reviews. The brand launched its first national TV campaign last year and this time around will include video ads on Snapchat and Instagram as well. Yelp has extended review service to include hotels, doctors and fitness professionals as they are seeing more and more consumers needing reviews in those areas.

In addition to these features, the app can also surprise fans with their favorite food based on previous orders and also offers a generous rewards program for users.

Goldfish Crackers is Doubling Down on Its Support For LGBT Events This Summer

Starting this summer, select packaging of the Pepperidge Farm snack will feature a new logo of multicolored fish (a reference to the rainbow flag that signifies the diversity of the gay community). Already a sponsor of the pride parades in New York and Philadelphia, this year Goldfish will also underwrite the parades in Cincinnati, Minneapolis and Norwalk, Conn. Overall, the company has pledged to double its pride-related activities in the coming months.

NBA Launches Fitness App That Links You to Your Favorite Stars

On June 1, the NBA's first-ever fitness app launched in partnership with Under Armour, combining the league's exclusive content with the fitness interactivity of the Under Armour Connected Fitness platform. The app allows user to track and share fitness goals and progress, as well as participate in virtual fitness training challenges. Consumers can also find workout tips from NBA trainers who regularly work with NBA stars such as LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.

MTV Tries to Turn Viewers Into Voters With a Robo-Roundtable And Issue-Focused Initiatives

MTV’s latest campaign has found creative ways to guide young voters to focus on political issues, not the absurdity of the election. The “Elect This” campaign is using robots controlled by social media, infographics and celebrities to encourage young voters to get to the polls this year. MTV will debut the short-form series “Robo-Roundtable,” which pokes fun at “puppet politics” while engaging in daily on-air and online debates, hosting Facebook Live videos and posting Snapchat content.
