Meals on Wheels Launches Largest Ad Push

Meals on Wheels America and the Ad Council are launching the “Do Lunch” campaign designed to dispel myths about the senior citizen-focused organization to recruit volunteers. The public service announcements feature select stories from the 2.4 million seniors Meals on Wheels serves each year. The campaign partnered with the storytelling platform Upworthy and will run on TV, radio, print and digital.

Gabby Douglas, the 20-year-old Olympic gymnast, has two gold medals, multiple world championships, was officially selected for the U.S. women's gymnastics Olympic team and, to top it all off, she now has her own Barbie doll. She hopes children playing with her doll will take away her number-one lesson for young women and men: "Be yourself and really embrace your inner beauty and your true talent. Believe in yourself. The Wooftrax app, Walk For a Dog, has enabled its app to link to Pokémon Go and will donate to an animal shelter of the player’s choice, with the funds based on the length of the player’s walk. This innovative partnership shows how games can also be used to help greater causes.

Disney Emojis Are About to Become a Part of Your World

Emojiholics of the world, rejoice! Disney emojis are soon coming to smartphones everywhere. Disney Games released a trailer debuting nearly 400 new emojis, all of them Disney or Pixar themed. Emojis come from both Disney classics and more modern movies like "The Little Mermaid" and "Lilo and Stitch." In order to collect the emojis users will first have to play a matching game called "Disney Emoji Blitz," which will be released on iOS and Android.

Nintendo is Releasing a Miniature NES With 30 Built-In Games

Nintendo announced the release of the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition, a miniature edition of the classic system, including 30 built in games. Users simply plug the system into a TV via HDMI cable, and start gaming with a controller designed to work just like the iconic rectangular NES gamepad. The NES Classic Edition will be available on Nov. 11 for $59.99.

KLM Airlines Launching World's First On-Tap Draught Beer on Flights

KLM Airlines decided it was time to tap into the beer enthusiasts and introduce the first airline draught beer system. The Royal Dutch Airlines turned to its beer partner, Heineken, to develop an innovative keg that is specially designed to overcome the challenges of dispensing beer under the conditions of a cabin. Passengers can expect to be able to order a pint on select flights starting next month.

French Women Are Sharing Photos of Their Body Hair For a Very Good Reason

To fight the body hair stigma, women in France are sharing photos of their hairy legs and armpits by using the hashtag #LesPrincessesOntDesPoils, meaning #PrincessesHaveHair. The hashtag was started by a 16-year-old who encouraged others to share their photos to prove there is nothing abnormal about it. The hashtag has generated over 25,000 mentions to spark the conversation on what one person tweeted, “Why do men have the right to have hair and not women?”
