J.Crew received a PR boost this week after Jenni Avins, a fashion writer for New York magazine and The Wall Street Journal, wrote an impassioned plea in NY mag’s The Cut blog, asking J.Crew to bring back its scoop back tank swimsuit. J.Crew promptly responded by announcing the swimwear’s return in a two-page New York ad with a handwritten note directly from creative director Jenna Lyons, to prove that big brands listen to its customers.
