Stimulation Restores Some Function For 4 Paralyzed Men

A breakthrough in paralysis research allowed four paralyzed men to move their legs as a result of electrical currents through their spines to mimic the signals the brain normally transmits to initiate movement, also known as epidural stimulation. This study that was published on Tuesday, April 8th in Brain, and funded with the help of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, is a huge stepping stone in the path towards finding a cure for paralysis. Guests can ease the pain of Tax Day by selecting their favorite song and taking the stage to perform at their local Hard Rock Cafe. PopSugar Launches Full-Service Unit The Bakery

The women’s lifestyle company PopSugar, is now unveiling its newest project, The Bakery- a full-service in-house team focused on helping advertisers target their direct demographic, women ages 18-39 by creating content and offline branded events. The Bakery will also allow companies to use PopSugar’s own advertising technology, PopSugar Snap, to develop its own campaigns.

SodaStream Targets Ocean Pollution, With Light Touch

In a partnership with nonprofit organizations Earth Day Network and 5 Gyres, SodaStream has launched a cause-related campaign that aims to raise awareness of the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch," a collection of mostly plastic waste that is twice the size of Texas. SodaStream aims to encourage consumers to sign a petition that will be sent to world leaders, urging them to work to address the issue of pollution.

Skyscraper-Sized Tetris Game Wows US City

Thirty years after the game Tetris was created, game designers used a new platform to play – Philadelphia skyscrapers! Hundreds of Tetris fans had a little fun during Philly Tech Week with a big version of the classic video game on the side of the 29-story Cira Centre in downtown Philadelphia. Images of supersized shapes "fell" on two sides of the mirrored tower as competitors used joysticks to maneuver them, creating a spectacle against the night sky.

Troy-Bilt Lets Gardening Enthusiasts 'Think Spring'

After a large number of Facebook users flocked to Troy-Bilt’s page to ask questions about yard work and share photos of their gardening experiences, the company decided to launch “Think Spring,” a digital platform for users to connect. Part of the initiative includes a brand new website where users can upload photos of their flourishing gardens or share their best gardening advice. The site will turn the content into an animated video that the user can share on Facebook and Twitter. Fans can vote on which video they liked the best, with the best videos going head-to-head on Troy-Bilt’s Facebook page. The winner will receive prizes from Troy-Bilt and Lowe’s.

J.Crew Brings Back a Discontinued Swimsuit Just Because One Superfan Asked Nicely

J.Crew received a PR boost this week after Jenni Avins, a fashion writer for New York magazine and The Wall Street Journal, wrote an impassioned plea in NY mag’s The Cut blog, asking J.Crew to bring back its scoop back tank swimsuit. J.Crew promptly responded by announcing the swimwear’s return in a two-page New York ad with a handwritten note directly from creative director Jenna Lyons, to prove that big brands listen to its customers.
