Dreamworks And 20th Century Fox Fly Giant Dragon Over London to Promote How to Train Your Dragon Two

As a promotional stunt for How to Train Your Dragon 2, 20th Century Fox and Dreamworks flew a dragon kite through London’s Tower Bridge. The kite measured 54 feet from head to toe with a wingspan of 36 feet – bigger than a London double decker bus. The giant kite followed the Thames from its launch point in North Greenwich, using a high-speed boat to pull the kite through the drawbridges of Tower Bridge.

Peeps is Planning 365 Straight Days of Holiday Celebrations

Peeps launched a new social media campaign celebrating the world’s most obscure holidays for 365 days. The brand is debuting its new bite-sized product, Peeps Minis, which are available in Strawberry Crème, Sour Watermelon and Chocolate Crème. Fans can join in the fun and follow daily “peepified” illustrations dedicated to offbeat holidays like Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day and Bunsen Burner Day. The Synek draft dispenser aims to become the world’s first portable tap house with the introduction of a Keurig-like machine that will provide unlimited access to fresh brews through one tap. Created by a Missouri inventor with a goal to reinvent beer packaging, the Synek debuted on Kickstarter with a goal to raise $250K in funding.

Nationals’ Minor League Affiliate Had to Turn Fans Away From Tattoo Promotion

The Washington Nationals’ Class AAA affiliate Syracuse Chiefs offered free general admission seating for life to the first 36 fans who got a tattoo of the team’s logo. Even though severe weather threatened to delay or even cancel the game, fans started lining up six hours before the gates were set to open. The free tattoos ran out well before the game started, but the legacy of this promotion will last forever for a few lucky fans.

Walmart Promotes Women-Owned Businesses With New Product Logo

Walmart is going to begin labeling products owned by women. Lingerie brand Smart & Sexy and West Virginia-based Maggie’s Salsa are among the women-owned businesses that plan to adopt the new logo. The retail giant pledged in 2011 to source $20 billion of goods from U.S. women-owned businesses by 2016.

Monster is unveiling two new recruiting services geared specifically for the social world, and an updated brand identity to emphasize its mission of connecting people and jobs anywhere. The two new products, TalentBin by Monster and Monster Twitter Cards, are geared toward helping employers connect with job candidates. TalentBin harnesses professionally relevant information, while Monster Twitter Cards allows employers to send out branded tweets to more effectively spread the word about job openings.
