Gatorade released its newest commercial, which pays tribute to Derek Jeter, the retiring captain of the New York Yankees. The new ad for the soon-to-be-retired Yankees' shortstop features Jeter making his way around the Bronx near Yankee Stadium, mingling with his fans and thanking them for their support.

Toys“R”Us has revealed its 2014 Holiday #TRUHotToyList. The annual list of 36 items is determined by Toys“R”Us play experts and packed with a wide range of brand new toys and games. Of the 36 items on the list, "Fabulous 15" make it to an elite status of what are expected to be the most sought after and anticipated toys of the holiday season. Now through the holiday season, the brand will engage consumers via social media, print and digital ads and Pinterest. (client)

Krispy Kreme to Sell ‘Ghostbusters’ Donuts

Krispy Kreme and Sony Pictures are collaborating for limited-edition doughnuts to honor the 30th anniversary of "Ghostbusters" and its release on Blu-Ray. The marshmallow-filled, iced pastries will feature the iconic film’s Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man as well as the Ghostbusters logo and green icing representing slime! The doughnuts will be available from Sept. 29 through Oct. 31 at Krispy Kreme locations in the U.S. and Canada.

You Can Now Drink Girl Scout Cookies

Nestle's Nesquik has teamed up with Girl Scouts to create a Thin Mint and Caramel Coconut flavored milk! To launch the reinvention of these classic cookie flavors, the brand has invited consumers to participate in the Double Awesome Twitter Contest; fans can share their #DblAwesomeContest moments by tweeting a photo of themselves enjoying the new Nesquik flavors. The grand prize winner will win a trip to one of four destinations and receive $500 spending cash.

The New Jersey Devils have unveiled a new marketing campaign for the upcoming hockey season. This campaign features the new slogan, “We’re All #DevilsInside” along with a redesigned website and new social media banners. The campaign is designed to reflect the passion and pride that the team, their fans, and the surrounding communities have for the team. The new slogan connects the fans and the team as one, creating unity while also giving an underlying tone of evil, in connection to the team name.

Converse is launching a new projected called "Sneakers Would," in order to encourage spontaneity throughout youth.  It aims to entice fans to take part in spontaneous activities and will pop up randomly in London, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid and Amsterdam throughout September and October. Disney Partners With Kohl’s to Drive Launch of Photo-Contest App

Get ready to let it go! Kohl’s and Disney are collaborating to host a singing contest in preparation for a holiday commercial that will air during the American Music Awards on Nov. 23. To enter, customers are encouraged to buy Frozen items at Kohl’s and post photos of their new purchases on social networks by tagging @Kohls and using the hashtag #FrozenFunAtKohls. The winning submission will get the chance to be featured in Kohl’s holiday commercial to be aired during the American Music Awards broadcast.

Houston's Garbage Trucks Are Now Covered In Awesome Art

To encourage more recycling in Houston and bring art to more public places, a new campaign features municipal recycling trucks have been covered in art work from local artists. The mission is to integrate art and design into the infrastructure of the city. Houston’s Solid Waste Management Department is rolling out a controversial plan to bring recycling to every curbside. Unlike most cities that ask residents to separate their trash before it’s picked up, the SWMD is scooping it up as a “single stream” and separating it at a different facility.

Department store chain Nordstrom gathered a group of Instagram aficionados to photograph its fall accessories to add a personal touch to its ecommerce pages. The “Instalog” features shots of handbags, jewelry, boots and hosiery composed by 11 New York-based magazine editors, social media marketers, stylists and bloggers. Including these varied voices on the product pages will help consumers see how items fit into their lifestyles.
