'Frozen' Sing-off in New Kohl's Ads

Kohl’s will be hosting a Frozen-ad-a-thon with "Let it Go" as the focal point. During the 42nd Annual American Music Awards Show, Kohl’s will sponsor a series of ads that feature clips of 10 contestants who are vying to collect the most viewer votes and have their Let it Go solo air during the awards ceremony on Nov. 23. Kohl’s is leveraging this opportunity to remind consumers that they have become the unofficial Frozen merchandise headquarters. This holiday season, Kohl’s is stocked with everything from Frozen apparel to Frozen toys to even a Frozen wafflemaker.

Holiday Coffee Cups Out From Tim Hortons

Tim Hortons is combining two winter classics: the holiday coffee cup and the ugly Christmas sweater. Each size coffee comes with its own festive sweater design. To add a little extra dose of holiday spirit, every time someone shares a photo of a good deed with the company’s #WarmWishes hashtag, Tim Hortons will donate a toque (think those warm, knitted, Canadian-style winter hats) to a child in need. Tim Hortons has also knitted a giant sweater for its travelling coffee truck, which is delivering free coffee throughout the season. At the end of the season, the sweater will be deconstructed and made into blankets to be donated to a local shelter.

Nintendo Wants 'Amiibo' Figures to Help Solo Players Feel Less Lonely

Nintendo has launched "Super Smash Bros. for Wii U" and for the first time in the franchise's 15-year history, players are able to participate in competitions with up to eight people. Alongside the launch of the game line is "Amiibo," a collection of figurines that can actually be transferred into the digital world of Smash Bros. The figures are embedded with a tiny electronic chip that when placed on a Wii U GamePad are scanned, and the characters are transported into the live game, becoming a sparring partner.

Victoria's Secret Launches Mobile Messaging App — So You Can Combine Shopping And Texting!

Victoria’s Secret is appealing to millennials with "Pink," a new app that lets customers shop and chat at the same time. Users can customize their chats with different shades of pink and use branded emojis with the app. The lingerie giant became the first marketer to use a chatting feature from a mobile app called Frankly and will use the chat function to issue exclusive content during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in London on Dec. 9.

UGG Australia has released an upbeat video of choreographed dancers prancing around a snowy pine tree, as they create an elaborate snowflake out of sparkling lights. The campaign is part of a larger holiday initiative that includes online videos and social media to push shopping via Instagram, ship to store, and same-day delivery in key markets.
