Coyne PR Curses For Charity

All year long, Coyne's agency swear jar collected change from employees who let the expletives fly. When it came time to create the agency's holiday card, bells began to jingle. Employees headed to the local Salvation Army kettle and poured more than $1,500 into the red bucket, successfully emptying the swear jar. The Salvation Army bell ringer loved the idea of emptying the swear jar, saying, "Many children will benefit from this donation."

Rice Krispies, 'Taste of Home' Team on Holiday Event to Drive Mobile, Social Connections

Kellogg’s Rice Krispies and the Taste of Home magazine teamed up to create “Gingerbread Boulevard,” three life-sized gingerbread houses in NYC’s Madison Square Park. During the park’s traditional tree lighting ceremony, the brands handed out holiday treats along with a Rice Krispies recipe. Through Dec. 23, visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite house for a chance to win a $5,000 cash prize and to use the hashtag #TOHBLVD to share their experiences. For those who can’t visit in person, there is a landing page on TasteofHome.com where people can view the houses and vote.

Ted Baker Leans on Instagram For #TedsElfie Christmas Marketing Drive

Fashion retailer Ted Baker has launched the #TedsElfie campaign on Instagram. To engage consumers, the brand asks users to find Santa's missing elves by taking part in a "choose your own adventure"-style game, and to check social media pages for hints about where to look. The campaign will run for three weeks, with seven elves to be discovered in return for prizes including a trip to the northern lights.

Hanes is bringing comfort to those in need this holiday season. American's No.1 sock brand is donating 150,000 pairs of socks at various Salvation Army locations across the country. Since 2009, Hanes has donated a total of 1.5 million pairs of socks. The brand is encouraging consumers to donate or share a story about providing comfort this holiday season using the #HanesforGood hashtag.

Michigan Police Deliver Presents – Instead of Tickets – During Traffic Stops

When drivers in Lowell, MI saw flashing blue police lights in their rearview mirror, they were expecting a traffic ticket, but that’s not exactly what they got. The Lowell Police Department teamed up with Christian network UP TV to promote its #UPLiftSomeone campaign – and did just that. Rather than issue summonses, police officers delivered some holiday cheer by surprising drivers with exactly what was on their wish list.

Bloomingdale’s is turning to Instagram to help holiday shoppers with gift ideas. On Bloomingdale’s Instagram page, it features gift ideas ranging from snow globes to jewelry using #Zoomingdales. Part of the campaign includes four photo collages, where users can click on a specific item, bringing them to a microsite to buy the product.

Google is helping people countdown to Christmas through an online advent calendar! Through Dec. 24, visitors can play a myriad of games and activities, featuring the jolly man himself. Then on Christmas Eve, Google will track Santa’s journey around the globe with Google Maps. Great for the impatient young ones (and adults – we don’t judge)!

eBay Teams Up With Top Designers to Let Customers Charge Devices in Style

eBay is partnering with America’s top fashion designers for a series of customized power banks to charge devices in style and provide luxury labels at an affordable price. Through a partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America, eBay will sell the Holiday Collective series featuring exclusive designs by Badgley Mischka, Nicole Miller, Pamela Love, Suno, Thakoon and Trina Turk. Each creation will be available through Dec. 22, or while supplies last, on eBay at a "Buy it Now" price of $25.
