Apple New Christmas Ad Might Actually Make You Cry

Apple’s new holiday advertisement tugs at viewers’ heartstrings and shows off the capabilities of the new iPhone.  The new commercial, titled “Misunderstood,” follows a young teenager who is continuously distracted by his iPhone throughout his family’s holiday events.  In the end, it shows that the boy was actually recording the entire trip and creating a well-edited video to show to his family as a present on Christmas morning.

Heineken Gets Holiday Revelers to Sing Karaoke For 30,000 Strangers

Heineken fans were able to take their holiday spirit to a whole new level this year! Upon receiving invitations to participate in an evening of “Carol Karaoke,” unbeknownst to the select few carolers chosen, Heineken cameramen were broadcasting their performances live in Times Square, on taxi screens throughout NYC and on a jumbotron in Washington D.C. Given the choice to walk away or continue singing for 30,000 strangers, a few people decided to stick out the embarrassment. The event produced was a spin-off of Heineken’s holiday season campaign, “Open Your Celebration,” which will introduce four limited edition bottle labels.

Kringl: App Lets You Capture Proof of Santa in Your Home

Are your children looking for proof that Santa Claus was in their home on Christmas Eve? The new Kringl app is the answer for all parents! The app uses augmented reality in a pre-recorded video, showing Santa inside the users’ homes. The app allows the user to choose what they want Santa to do (dunk a cookie in milk, check his list, etc.), place Santa anywhere in their home, shoot the 10-second video, and save it for viewing. The Kringl app is free to use and has the ability to donate to Make-A-Wish Canada through the app.

MOO's Interactive Festive Funk Machine Cranks Out Holiday Tunes

The Festive Funk Machine website from MOO features a bunch of clickable robots that make different sounds. Website visitors can click on the robots to create festive caroling bots, as well as a number of other musical instruments to accompany them. MOO also has an adorable advent calendar which features red and greet bots.

Macy’s holiday campaign BELIEVE gets the whole family in the spirit of the season, while giving back to charity. With postal boxes in each store, Macy’s is encouraging families to take pictures of their children delivering their letters with the hashtag #MacysBelieve and if 1 million letters are sent, Macy’s will donate 1 million dollars to Make-A-Wish America.

Santa Trackers Help Keep Tabs on Kris Kringle

Do you know where Santa is? If not, there are two easy ways to track Kris Kringle this holiday, the North American Aerospace Defense Command’s (NORAD) tracker and the smartphone app, Google Santa Tracker. This year the NORAD tracker has fighter jets escorting Santa and his sleigh, while the Google tracker features an animated village with videos and activities.

Great Ritz Holiday Parade Brings Shopping Deals For Christmas

Ritz Crackers is hosting its Great Ritz Holiday Parade. The digital parade marches until Christmas featuring shopping deals and recipe ideas. The parade website includes a float-building tool in which consumers can create digital parade floats, by adding festive items with circular Ritz-like components. Consumers can also share one of Ritz's ready-made floats on their social networks by signing in with Facebook, Twitter or Google.

Home Sweet Home: See the World's Largest Gingerbread House

The Traditions Club and St. Joseph Health System of Bryan, Texas set out to break the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Gingerbread House. The sweet structure is 60 feet by 42 feet and measures up to 20 feet tall. It took 1,800 pounds of butter, 7,200 eggs, 3,000 pounds of sugar, 7,200 pounds of flour and more than 22,000 pieces candy to complete the sweet structure. Visitors were able to tour the house for a small fee with all proceeds going to the St. Joseph’s Level II Trauma Center.
