In honor of “National Chip and Dip Day” on March 23, Tostitos launched a campaign to make sure all "Chips" get their dip. Tostitos is going after people named Chip or anyone living in a city with “chip” in itsname. Anyone who can prove they match the “Chip” criteria will get a coupon for free Tostitos dip. To promote the campaign, Tostitos has created a video featuring Erik Estrada, who starred in the 1970s/1980s television show CHiPs and Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly.

Gap Inc. owned apparel brand Old Navy is engaging millennials by showcasing its new spring line on microblogging social media application Tumblr and Yahoo. The brand will leverage its partnership with fashion blog, styling and designer team Emily Current and Meritt Elliott. Style recommendations and personalization tips from the duo will be the main advertising content, as well as sponsored posts featuring spring trends to engage millennials.

Popeyes Challenges You to Game of Chicken - With a Chicken

Popeyes announced the launch of its first mobile application game for its limited-edition Red Stick Chicken at South by Southwest. The first mobile application will be ready for download on March 30 and will feature a game that challenges users to stare at a virtual chicken without blinking or moving. If the user outlasts the virtual chicken, they win and get bragging rights over a chicken. Scores can be shared via social media and text message.

Diplo Helps K-Swiss Kick Off a Crowdsourced Campaign

In its latest initiative, sneaker brand K-Swiss is allowing consumers to apply for a position on “The Board,” a group of 100 creatives led by musician/entrepreneur Diplo, whose ideas for brand outreach and growth will actually be implemented. Interested parties can apply on the K-Swiss website through April 30 and those selected will participate in focus groups to work on projects surrounding the K-Swiss business.

Nintendo is partnering up with DeNA, a large Japanese mobile company, to create mobile games featuring its iconic characters. To ensure the quality of game experience, only new original games optimized for smart device functionality will be created, rather than porting games created specifically for the Wii console or the Nintendo 3DS system.

Apparel retailer Ted Baker launched its new digital campaign, "All is Not as it Seams," encouraging consumer engagement with hidden messages on Instagram. For a chance to win a trip, fans take a screenshot of specific Ted Baker pictures on its Instagram, upload and post them to their own with the hashtag #Pinch_Me. Secret messages with clues to win are revealed when the application’s filters are added. The winner of the contest will receive flights to Portmeirion, United Kingdom - the location of Ted Baker’s upcoming spring line - and tickets to Festival Number 6, an arts and music festival.

Newark Penn Station to Celebrate 80th Anniversary

Newark Penn Station is celebrating its 80th anniversary on March 23. NJ Transit will acknowledge the occasion with speeches and tours of the station and historic buses from the NJ Transportation Heritage Center. The station, which was founded in 1935, is a transportation hub for NJ Transit, Amtrak and PATH trains.

These Charity Arcades in Swedish Airports Raise Money For The Red Cross

The Swedish Red Cross came up with a genius way of adding a bit of fun to donating. Partnering with Swedavia, a network of 10 airports across Sweden, retro-gaming consoles have been set up in waiting areas of major airports to help departing passengers pass the time while increasing Red Cross donations. The classic arcade machines accept any foreign currency to play and include nostalgic games such as Ms. Pacman, Space Invaders and Galaga.
