Spearheaded by founder, Selena Gomez, Rare Beauty and the Mental Health First Aid training organization launched the “Your Words Matter” campaign in support of Mental Health Awareness Month. Gomez, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, used her brand and personal platform to share resources that she personally sees as useful to spread the initiative’s goal – educating people on how words can impact mental health. In joint efforts with MTV and First Lady Jill Biden, Rare Beauty brought this conversation to the White House for the first ever Mental Health Youth Action Forum. Young leaders were given a platform to share their personal mental health stories and strategies to help encourage positive conversations. These conversations aim to help those with varying diagnoses by creating more inclusive and safer communication surrounding mental health.
