Building codes and standards are the backbone of the built society and are the first line of defense in keeping our buildings safe and structurally sound. However, often in the background, many do not realize the role building codes play in keeping society quite literally “standing.” The International Code Council, a nonprofit association that provides a wide range of building safety solutions and the developer of the International Codes (I-Codes), the most widely used and highly regarded set of building safety codes in the world, reached out to Coyne to help educate the public around the importance of adopting modern building codes and standards and highlight the Code Council’s critical role in protecting the health, safety and welfare of people.
