Recently, Coyne helped launch the inaugural Salix Gastrointestinal Health Scholars Program, awarding a total of $100,000 in scholarships to 10 students living with a GI disease to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary.

Salix Use Cover — The team formed an integrated strategy for Salix corporate and its portfolio of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) medications to lead the industry in understanding the impact of the pandemic on the IBS patient population. In a survey of nearly 700 IBS patients, Coyne uncovered insights about how living through the pandemic has affected their symptoms, behaviors and preferences. The resulting report, Patient Perspectives: Living with IBS in a Pandemic, was launched during IBS Awareness Month in April to healthcare providers, patient communities and general consumers through an expansive media mix of earned, paid and owned channels. The findings are filling gaps in knowledge and prompting important conversations between patients and healthcare providers.
